Personal Projects
This is a collection of all of my personal and passion projects. I wasn’t hired to do any of these, they are just the types of things I wanted to make to have fun or learn new tricks to the trade.
Fragile Tostadas Red Rocks Poster
Before getting too far into this one, I just want to clarify that this was a fun little passion project. I have never designed a poster that has been used to promote a real Red Rocks show. Though, if someone in a band performing at Red Rocks were to see this and would like to reach out to me, my line is always open.
You will see in a lot of these projects have a gritty texture applied to them, and even on some of my commissioned works. This is thanks to True Grit Texture Supplies wonderful collection of brushes and textures. It’s also where I get a lot of my inspiration.
Spider-Man X Vans Surf
Here, the inspiration came from Vans’ collaboration with Marvel Comics. I wanted to reimagine that partnership as if Vans put some of the beloved Marvel characters in board sport-type situations. So I decided to depict Spider-Man (who looks like he is always wearing a wetsuit) at the beach to catch a few waves on his crime fighting break. Can you see my California kid start to come through in these last two projects?

Star Wars Wrestling Poster
Pretty straight forward on this one, I wanted to try my hand at making a wrestling poster and learn how to design posters to promote events and draw attention to the important things. What makes this special is that it is a remake of a poster that I made in high school (see below).
Here’s the original from my high school days. There are a lot of things I wish I knew then that would have made this a bit better, but alas… there is no such thing as time travel. I’m just glad I can do better now.
